Mon Anniversaire Inoubliable

Fours years ago I started planning everything that I wanted to happen for my Golden Birthday.  I knew exactly where I wanted to be and what I wanted to do. I wished upon a star and hoped for the best. When November came and I couldn’t check anything off my list, my focus got cloudy. On the day of my birthday, I realized what was the most important thing to me. In life, we don’t always get what we want, but we do get what we need. As we focus on the things that are the most important to us, we will find joy again and that joy is what will make us realize how much we are blessed and loved. Wherever you are, and whatever you do, there will always be something wrong. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling the world or living the life of your dreams. Sometimes you just have to look at life in a different light.  God has been so good to me. I have joy and sometimes joy gives you spontaneous ideas like waking up in a chateau on your birthday. I really didn’t get the memo that doing something like that is usually for lovebirds.  So you can imagine the glares that I got for dinner that night.  Since I am completely French now, I had my red lipstick on and I made sure to carry myself in a way that said Pourquoi pas?  Why not?  Later that evening, I had the privilege of having 10 different nationalities attending the birthday party. They all sang happy birthday to me in their native tongue. No, it wasn’t what I wanted, it was everything that I needed and more!

Below is Domain de la Tortiniere, chateau and hotel! Audrey Hepburn stayed there. While wondering the park of La Tortiniere, Charles Perrault got the splendid idea of writing “Sleeping Beauty”.
